Ice Arena Operations Manager - Ice and Building Maintenance

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
 Establish flood schedules, edging schedules and general ice maintenance needs. Ensure effective staff scheduling, for both Ice Technicians and Janitorial staff, meeting facility needs.
 Strong customer service aptitude which is seen in leading the Operations Department team.
 Coordinate the preventative maintenance and repairs of all equipment & the facility. Maintain the company assets on the database.
 Supplies inventory, purchasing and control and expense management.
 Create and manage the annual department budget.
 Hire, coach and discipline staff in a positive employee relations environment.
 Ensure a safe working environment and a safe customer environment for the whole facility.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
 Must hold a valid Manitoba refrigeration ticket.
 Must have 2-3 years experience supervising people. Must have good people and communication skills, be honest and hard working.
 Must have 3-4 years experience with ice maintenance and ice painting.
 A good understanding of Zamboni operation and repair.
 A good understanding of H.V.A.C. operation & maintenance.
 All round knowledge of mechanical equipment and facility maintenance.
 Preferred: experience in facility conversions for special events, concerts, etc.
 Must have minimum Grade 12 Secondary School Education or equivalent.
