Location: Russell, Manitoba Our client supplies consumer, general merchandise and agro products and services to customers in many communities in Southern Manitoba. We are searching for an Agro Manager for the Agro Retail located in Russell, Manitoba. The Russell Agro generated $15 million dollars in business in 2008. They provide a full line of crop protection products and services, seed, fertilizer, bins and augers.
As the new Agro Manager, you will be responsible for developing the annual business plan, annual budget and the 5 year goals and objectives. Working with your team you will execute the plan. You will supervise 5 direct reports, and through them oversee 4 more full time and 15 more seasonal staff. With your team you will manage:
Sales, pricing and customer service;
Inventory ordering, handling and delivery;
Office bookkeeping, reporting and credit;
Business operations, (like equipment maintenance and safety)
As the manager you will be the leader of the group that gets everything done, you must be a good delegator who can develop and motivate your people. You must be a hands on leader as you will be performing a broad range of operational tasks and the ability to multi- task and prioritize is essential. You will be working with the Agro Team, the Division Manager, Home Office, and the Agro Managers from four other locations to develop and implement the goals of the Agro Division. To be considered you must have an agriculture background, people management experience, retail experience and ag business management experience (minimum 5 years). A post secondary degree or diploma is an asset but not a deal breaker if you have an established track record in management.
