Geotechnical Engineer General Duties: - Dam safety and mine closure work - Development and implementation of geotechnical investigations - Design of shallow and deep foundation systems - Assessment and design of slope stabilization measures - Preparing technical reports and proposals - Project Management Specific Requirements: - Engineering degree and eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer - Over 5 of years experience in the industry or with a consulting organization - Strong verbal and written communication skills and commitment to technical excellence - Excellent computer skills are required including experience with the Microsoft Office and geotechnical modeling software such as Geo-Slope International’s geotechnical modeling software. - Previous experience in geotechnical investigations including the installation, monitoring and data reduction of geotechnical instrumentation, foundation engineering, soil mechanics and slope stability - Experience with permafrost engineering and dynamic pile testing would be considered an asset
