Key Responsibilities Located in Winnipeg and reporting to the Operations Manager, the Estimating Manager is responsible for leading a team of 7 people. With a strong understanding of construction processes the Estimating Manager will provide leadership for estimators. This is a new position with opportunities for advancement. Responsibilities include: - Review, approve, and issue recommended project cost, contingency, and escalation to be presented to the management review team - Determining material & labour requirements and costs - Work effectively with other construction professionals (engineers, subcontractors & suppliers) - Cost estimate plans, reviews, and reports - Purchasing, Purchase Orders, invoice approvals, and identifying sub-trades - Budgeting & problem solving Selection Criteria - Minimum 5 years residential construction experience (will consider commercial construction) - Minimum 3 yrs management experience - Working knowledge of estimating processes, programs, and associated costs - CET strongly desired - College courses in estimating, construction methods and techniques an asset - Strong knowledge of and evidence of commitment to occupational health, safety and standards related to the construction industry - Strong organizational, communications, time management, planning, and teamwork skills - Comfortable with computers and Microsoft Suite; Newstar experience a strong asset - Comfortable working in a very high paced environment with multiple priorities | |
