This opportunity is a new position, reporting directly to the Manager, Industrial Engineering. The successful candidate will have an industrial engineering or related background with strong knowledge of building codes, equipment capabilities and equipment requirements including regulations, expansions, electrical, facilities, energy, heating and water management. The successful candidate will also be a self-motivated individual possessing excellent interpersonal and team building skills, in addition to an energetic, positive and can-do attitude.

Key Responsibilities
*Produce plans, drawings and schedules for proposed projects.
*Ensure the basic structural design of lifting devices and other mechanisms.
*Assist in the development of the yearly plant capital budget.
*Liaise with outside contractors engaged in plant modifications, extensions and equipment installation.
*Participate in engineering programs related to processes, methods, machinery and its installation in order to optimize production and construction activities.
*Prepare costs, time estimates and conceptual specifications for new proposed equipment.
*Maintain a history of capital projects.
*Work closely with plant personnel to improve processes and rectify production problems.
*Ensure that all plant tooling is maintained or replaced as needed.
*Be familiar with various manufacturing and production.
Maintain a good understanding of HVAC, electrical supply and systems.
Be involved in planning and projects relating to structural and HVAC expansion of facilities.

Selection Criteria
Bachelors degree in industrial or related engineering field OR Certified Engineering Technologist with appropriate experience.
Minimum 5-7 years experience in a manufacturing setting preferably in the durable goods, mechanical and/or electrical industry.
Experience in project management.
Demonstrated proficiency in Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
Strong organization and communication skills as well as a proven record of dependability and solid work ethic.
Well rounded problem solver with the necessary people skills to build a team for the future.
