Title: Financial Officer
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Day
Salary: Depends on qualifications
Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba

Descrition of work duties:
-Reports to Director for day to day operation, to Executive on a monthly basis.
-Assist in the maintenance of sound financial management practices in accordance with existing operating policy procedures.
-Maintain strictest confidentiality of internal operations of the organization at all times. Failure to do so will result in severe reprimand or suspension or dismissal.
-Record of all minutes of meetings, preparation and distribution to all Executive and Board members and other parties as deemed necessary.
-Maintain an accurate set of financial records for meeting costs and other such costs as incurred by the N.A.C.C.
-Prepare all necessary financial records for Executive and Board meetings as required.
-Ensure timely payment of all invoices subject to financial availability. Prepare payments based on such invoices for approval and signature of Executive.
-Prepare monthly financial statements for presentation to the N.A.C.C. Executive.
-Prepare cheques for signature of the N.A.C.C. Executive.
-Reconcile the bank statement on a monthly basis.
-Record the GST
-Issue T4’s
-Issue Records of Employment
-Maintain and organize a financial filing system
-Help work on budgets
-Print cheques and write out cheque requisitions
-Payroll
-Other duties as assigned from time to time.

Education: Completion of high school

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years

Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English

Business Equipment and Computer Applications: Windows, General office equipment, Electronic mail, Word processing software, Excel, Accounting software, Simply accounting by Sage

Financial Auditor Specific Skills: Ensure accuracy and compliance to accounting standards, procedures and internal control

Security and Safety: Criminal record check and Child Abuse Check

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Tight deadlines, Attention to detail

Essential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Numeracy, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Critical thinking, Significant use of memory, Computer use
