The Senior Geologist-Mines Exploration provides a full range of geological services to customers for designated areas by applying specialized knowledge to solution and analysis of routine and non-routine geological problems. The Senior Geologist-Mines Exploration will act as a technical specialist in Exploration, Resource / Reserve Reporting and/or Production and ensure that all geological / geotechnical information is collected, recorded, and presented according to prescribed standards and is considered in mine planning and production decisions. You will also be responsible for supervision, training and motivating a team of 20 Geologists and Technical Professionals. Position Requirements: • Strong understanding of ore deposit models (magmatic sulphide knowledge is an asset) • Leadership skills, strong safety, health and environment commitment and behaviors • Strong understanding of multi disciplinary exploration techniques, surface and underground diamond drilling program planning, implementation and execution • Good field skills, compilation skills (GIS) and 3D modeling skills (Datamine) • Strong supervisory, interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal • Knowledge of and experience with third party contracts • Strong organizational and time management skills. • Knowledge of mineral resource estimation method • Knowledge of geotechnical techniques • Knowledge of geostatistical methods • Practical experience in pit or underground mining environments Educational/Experience Requirements: • A B.Sc. Graduate from a Geological program • Minimum 8-10 years experience License/Professional Requirements: • Licensed Professional Geologist At Vale Inco, we are looking for candidates who meet a specific and unique skill set.
